Pfizer Stock Offers 14% Upside and 6% Dividend Yield
A 24/7 Wall St. Analysis recommends buying Pfizer stock, citing a $32.72 price target, a nearly 6% dividend yield, and pipeline catalysts including a GLP-1

Pfizer stock carries a buy rating and a 12-month price target of $32.72, implying nearly 14% upside from its September 3, 2026, price of $28.77. According to a 24/7 Wall St. Analysis, this potential gain is anchored by a dividend yield of 5.91% and bolstered by a shifting narrative around the company's drug pipeline.
The analysis expresses 90% confidence in the recommendation. Adding the dividend to the projected share price appreciation strengthens the total return case for investors.
A Momentum Shift Backed by Real Numbers
Pfizer's shares have quietly rerated in 2026. The stock is up 22.6% year-to-date and nearly 16% over the past month, trading close to its 52-week high of $29.09.
This momentum is supported by recent financial results. The company reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $15 billion and adjusted diluted earnings per share of 77 cents. Management raised the midpoint of its full-year revenue guidance by $500 million, setting a new range of $60.5 to $62.5 billion. Pfizer has beaten adjusted EPS expectations for ten consecutive quarters. CEO Albert Bourla called the current phase a "defining period" for the company.
Valuation and Pipeline Catalysts
The report notes Pfizer's valuation trades at a discount to a key peer while offering a superior dividend. Its forward price-to-earnings ratio of 9x is well below Bristol-Myers Squibb's 11x. Meanwhile, Pfizer's dividend yield is nearly double that of Bristol-Myers Squibb.
The bullish investment thesis extends beyond the dividend to specific pipeline assets. One major catalyst is the cancer drug Padcev, which saw revenue grow over 20% year-over-year in the second quarter. The analysis notes an addressable U.S. Patient population of more than 42,000 for its use in muscle-invasive bladder cancer.
Another significant opportunity lies in the obesity drug market. A GLP-1 drug candidate, verubenotide, showed approximately 16% mean weight loss over 32 weeks in Phase 2b extension data. The drug is derived from the Metsera program and enters a market the analysis sizes at $150 billion.
The Bull Case and Cost Savings
A more optimistic scenario outlined in the analysis points to a price target of $36.62 per share. This would represent a total return of 27.42% when including the dividend.
This bull case is driven by the growth prospects for Padcev and the obesity drug, combined with significant cost savings. Pfizer has identified cumulative net cost savings of $9.7 billion to be realized through 2029. The company is projected to return to growth in 2029. These factors together could lead to an expansion of the company's valuation multiple.
Despite the positive outlook, the 24/7 Wall St. Report notes that Pfizer did not make its analysts' list of the ten best stocks to buy at the time of publication. A separate free report details those selections.
