Microsoft Stock Hits Longest 2026 Streak as
Microsoft shares have risen for six consecutive sessions, their longest winning streak since October 2025, gaining 30% over the past month.

Microsoft Corp.'s stock notched its sixth straight session of gains on Friday, August 28, 2026, marking its longest winning streak since October 28, 2025. The shares have climbed 30% over the past month, according to a report from MarketWatch.
The performance underscores a significant recovery in investor sentiment toward the software giant. Earlier fears that traditional software companies might be sidelined in the artificial-intelligence era have faded. The rally follows a strong positive reaction to Microsoft's July earnings report and upbeat results from its peers.
Analysts point to specific developments driving the optimism. D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria told MarketWatch that the recent expanded partnership between Anthropic and Salesforce, dubbed "Claudeforce," has cast a positive halo over Microsoft's stock as well. This partnership has helped investors realize Microsoft's strong position in providing what Luria calls "orchestration" and "harnesses" for AI integration.
Analyst Insights on AI Integration
Luria explained the technical advantages. The "orchestration layer" involves coordinating different AI models, agent deployment, and workflows, a task at which Microsoft's Copilot AI assistant excels. "Harnesses" refer to providing AI models with access to non-AI software and capabilities, enabling AI agents to execute tasks. Microsoft's software offerings provide capabilities critical for this integration.
Luria stated that Microsoft has now countered negative narratives that plagued its stock earlier in the year. Its last earnings report showed an acceleration in Azure cloud-computing growth and signaled a potential moderation in spending. This helped dispel the view that its massive AI investments were not delivering a return.
Broad Cloud Demand Supports Outlook
StoneX analyst Yi Fu Lee highlighted other supportive factors. He told MarketWatch that Microsoft's performance is bolstered by growing investor confidence in the company's ability to monetize AI beyond its cloud infrastructure, through products like Copilot and the GitHub coding assistant.
Lee also noted that strong revenue growth from competitors Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services reinforces the message of healthy overall demand in the enterprise cloud market. Results from so-called neocloud providers like CoreWeave and Nebius Group send a similar signal.
Those results lend credence to Microsoft's own commentary that "customer demand for AI and cloud services continues to exceed available capacity." Lee summarized the situation simply: demand across AI infrastructure continues to outstrip available supply. This fundamental dynamic is seen as a key driver behind the stock's recent strength, which has been tracked in our stats section for major tech equities.
The sustained rally places Microsoft among the notable performers in current market standings, reflecting a broader reassessment of software sector viability in the AI-driven investment landscape.
